A Ministry of Lord of Glory Lutheran Church
Gloryland Preschool’s Two-year old program is designed to offer two-year olds their first structured social interaction with peers and teachers. Our students will begin learning how to share toys, take turns, and make friends with other children. These are all very important skills and our teachers will gently guide your child’s exploration of this new world! We will use your child’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm for going to school to acquaint him or her with these new social experiences. A specially chosen theme will guide all of your child’s activities for the day. The themes may be related to the season or holiday we are celebrating or may be related to an educational experience such as farm animals, our five senses, or the stars and moon. Your child’s day will begin with a free play session during which children may choose to experience our many areas of play. These areas are: 1.) The dramatic play area which includes a kitchen with play food, puppet theater, dress up clothes, and dolls. 2.) The sensory table which has sand or water in it. 3.) The small manipulatives area which contains puzzles, board games, lacing cards, small blocks, counting and color activities, and magnets 4.) The large motor area which includes big blocks, a train set, tool bench, cars, trucks, and dinosaurs, 5.) The art area which will have a selection of markers, crayons, chalk, glue, play dough, and paint. In addition to our free play session, our two-year olds will have an opportunity to create an art project, sing songs, learn fingerplays, listen to a story, and have a snack. All of these experiences are designed to enhance your child’s ability to interact positively with teachers and peers and follow a structured pattern of play while providing your child with many ways to have fun at school! Your child’s first introduction to school is an important onewe’d also like to make it richly fulfilling one! |
