Each week your child will experience a new theme.  During the course of the week this theme is taught through the use of good children's books. The teachers read them, the children have access to them, and they are used at center time.  Because the children are immersed in print, they begin to recognize some of the 50 most common used words.  More importantly they exposed to great childrens books that teach a multitude of good things as well as take them on a journey in their mind.  Questions about story content, characters and making predictions are aspects of reading that we include daily.  Classes will use certain books as inspiration to write their own little stories as dictated to their teachers.

Writing in it's beginning stages happen at Gloryland.  We work at forming letters and getting children to write their name.  Capital letters and lower case are both taught.
